BOWLING GREEN, Ky. - Monday, the City of Bowling Green launched its first ever podcast, TalkBGKY, available on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, the City’s YouTube and Vimeo channels and the City’s website.

The first episode, released March 4, “‘These aren’t my pants’ and other policing absurdities,” takes listeners behind the scenes of some of the more humorous calls the Bowing Green Police Department answers. This first episode is hosted by City Public Information Officer Deborah West with guest BGPD Officer Ronnie Ward telling the tales.

Episodes will drop every first and third Monday of the month featuring a variety of City of Bowling Green employee hosts and our special guests. Upcoming episodes will delve into Underground Bowling Green, unsolved homicides, safe driving practices, cybersecurity, parks and recreation fun and all things related to Bowing Green.

“We look forward to sharing our stories with anyone who wants to learn more about the City of Bowling Green,” West said.

“Government transparency is vital to accountability and an informed citizenry,” West said. “This is yet another step the City is taking to keep our citizens and visitors informed about City government.”

While the City maintains an active online presence and works with local media to inform the public, not everyone uses social media or catches every news story. TalkBGKY offers the City a new platform to inform the public.
