Swim Participates at Best of the West

The Allen County-Scottsville Swim team returned to the water for the first time in 2023 at the Best of the West meet Saturday at Bowling Green High School. 

In the girls’ 200-yard freestyle, Anne Powell posted a time of 3:06.83. Teammate Jayden Harmon was 11th in the 50y free in the time of 29.50). Sarah Shain posted a time of 34.52 in the same event with AnnMarie Shirley finishing the 50y free in 37.94. Lily Bullington also competed and posted a 39.47. 

Allison Davis was fifth (1:13.25) and Emma Brown was eighth (1:20.13) in the 100y fly. Bullington was 11th (1:48.53). Sarah Davis had a time of 1:03.69 to place seventh in the 100y free. Harmon was eighth in the time of 1:04.31. Powel’s time in the event was 1:26.73. Brown was seventh in the 100y backstroke (1:12.00). Sarah Davis finished sixth in the 100y breaststroke (1:21.25) with Shirley 20th (1:40.01). 

In relay action for the Lady Patriots, The team of Sarah Davis, Allison Davis, Shain, and Harmon was seventh in the 200y free relay with a time of 2:06.32). Brown, the Davis twins, and Harmon placed sixth in the 200y medley relay with a 2;11.24. 

For the Patriots, Alex Stamps posted a time of 2:12.23 to place ninth in the 200y free and posted a time of 1:06.69 to earn a tenth in the 100y fly. Senior Aaron Shain was sixth in the 200y IM (2:19.07), Kash Taylor was eighth in the 50y free (25.22) and Houston Porter was 12th (26.08), and Max Drummond had a 33.01 time. Porter placed eighth (57.92) and Stamps (58.47) was ninth in the 100y free. Ryan Wolfe was eighth in the 500y free (5:41.78) and was fifth in the 100y backstroke (1:06.27). Drummond had a time of 1:44.63 in the 100y breast. 

The Patriot 400y relay team scored third place in the event. The team of Taylor, Wolfe, Porter, and Shain had a time of 3:47.96. 

AC-S swimmers return to action at Monroe County on Thursday.
