Rep. James Comer, a U.S. Congressman representing Kentucky’s 1st district since 2016, posted several messages on his social media account over the past week addressing Easter greetings, upcoming television appearances, and his views on party politics in Congress.
On April 5, Comer extended holiday wishes to his followers with a post stating, ” Happy Easter to all! https://t.co/e9bi9Sj3Z9″.
Later that same day, he announced an upcoming live appearance on Fox News to discuss legislative priorities: ” Joining @BigWeekendShow live on @FoxNews shortly to discuss the SAVE America Act and DHS funding. Tune in at 7pmET!” (April 5).
On April 7, Comer commented on partisan divisions in Congress regarding support for former President Trump’s administration. He wrote: “Democrats won’t support a single thing President Trump and his administration seek to do. Their objective is for the country to fail because it’s politically advantageous. Republicans in Congress are focused on ensuring America remains strong. @FoxNews @BigWeekendShow https://t.co/R1lpctIjL1”.
Comer has represented Kentucky’s 1st Congressional District since succeeding Ed Whitfield in 2016 and previously served in the Kentucky House of Representatives from 2001 to 2012. Born in Carthage, Tennessee in 1972 and currently residing in Tompkinsville, Comer holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Western Kentucky University earned in 1993.
