Rep. James Comer, U.S. Congressman representing Kentucky’s 1st district since 2016, posted a series of statements on July 18, 2025, regarding developments in his ongoing investigation into President Biden and criticism of NBC News.

In a post made at 14:33 UTC, Comer announced: “The third witness in our investigation into the cover-up of President Biden’s cognitive decline and unauthorized executive actions pleaded the Fifth Amendment today. There is now a pattern of key Biden confidants seeking to shield themselves from criminal liability for”.

Later that day at 18:25 UTC, Comer provided further details about the proceedings: “Annie Tomasini, former Assistant to President Biden and Deputy Director of Oval Office Operations, invoked the Fifth Amendment in response to these questions. https://t.co/eZfXuFxHWf”.

That evening at 22:07 UTC, Comer also shared criticism of media coverage by referencing comments from Rob Finnerty regarding NBC News: ” @RobFinnertyUSA just EXPOSED how corrupt & biased @NBCNews really is:

“NBC has become a shell of its former self. A hallowed out news organization that trades in lies instead of truth with an audience that has no idea that any of this is going on.” https://t.co/LdTrCAYucw“.

Comer has been serving as Kentucky’s representative for the 1st congressional district since replacing Ed Whitfield in 2016. Prior to his tenure in Congress, he served in the Kentucky House of Representatives from 2001 to 2012. Born in Carthage, Tennessee in 1972 and currently residing in Tompkinsville, Comer holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Western Kentucky University earned in 1993.
