There were 299 first grade students enrolled in Grayson County schools in the 2024-25 school year, 10.5% fewer than the previous year, according to the Kentucky Department of Education.

Clarkson Elementary School welcomed most of the first grade students in the county, registering 94 students.

Within Grayson County schools, enrollment was highest in third grade and lowest in preschool.

Statewide, Grayson County ranked 43rd in total enrollment. It held the same ranking the previous year.

Kentucky schools face funding gaps as state support is 24% below 2008 levels after accounting for inflation.
