Congressman James Comer (R-Ky.) has recognized Ann Claire Lutz for completing a summer internship in his Madisonville, Kentucky district office. During her time as an intern, Lutz learned about local government operations, interacted with constituents from the 1st Congressional District, and supported Congressman Comer’s field representatives in addressing community issues.
“In my Madisonville Office, Ann Claire was a great addition to my team, and I want to thank her for her service to the 1st Congressional District. Her work this summer was critical in helping me and my staff address concerns from constituents across Western Kentucky. Ann Claire has a bright future ahead of her and I look forward to following her future endeavors,” Congressman Comer said.
Ann Claire Lutz is originally from Hopkins County and is currently a junior at Lipscomb University where she studies Political Science.
“From this internship, I have gained skills in communication, relationship building, and compassion. I couldn’t be more grateful for the opportunity to learn and grow from a group of people who genuinely care about Kentucky. This internship was the first step in preparing me for a successful future as a lawyer,” said Ms. Lutz.
Interns working in Congressman Comer’s district offices typically handle various tasks such as answering phones, writing letters, assisting with media clips, supporting constituent casework, or contributing to district-based projects.
Comer has represented Kentucky’s 1st District in Congress since 2016 after succeeding Ed Whitfield. Before serving in Congress, he was a member of the Kentucky House of Representatives from 2001 to 2012. Additional details on internships are available at https://comer.house.gov/internships.
